«24 Classic Recordings» is the Django Reinhardt compilation bringing together recordings from 1937 to 1943, released in 2014 by Masterworks Singles on CD.
The album brings together 24 recordings made between 1937 and 1943, with Django Reinhardt as lead guitarist on all of them. The selection draws on an anthology annotated by critic Ralph J. Gleason and includes classics such as «Minor Swing», «Swing Guitars» and «Douce Ambiance», plus two bonus tracks.
This digipak edition presents the 24 digitally remastered recordings; total running time is 76:26.
A good gateway into Django Reinhardt's legacy for fans of gypsy jazz and swing, and of particular interest to guitarists.
