Two women die in a traffic accident, and the driver with them loses a leg. The husbands of the victims, two twin zoologists, are fascinated by the process of decomposition of the bodies. Afterwards, they begin an affair with the amputated driver and begin to release animals from the zoo where they work. Provocative, sexual, fun and very personal, this film is also a tribute to Vermeer. It explores the trauma of loss and man's relationship with animals. It has wonderful photography by Sacha Vierny and music by Michael Nyman.
