«Zarzuelas Inolvidables Marina» is the DVD recording of the zarzuela by Emilio Arrieta and Francisco Camprodón, with stage direction by José María Durmunt.
The action takes place in Lloret de Mar, a town on the Costa Brava. Marina, orphaned daughter of a ship's captain, lives protected by Jorge, with whom she is in love, but the age difference holds her back from confessing it. A supposed engagement to arouse Jorge's jealousy and a letter arriving with a ship's captain set the entanglements in motion.
Live recording with the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra and the Las Palmas Lyric Choir. The work premiered at the Teatro Circo in Madrid on 21 September 1855. Audio in Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1.
For fans of zarzuela and Spanish musical theatre; suitable for all audiences.
