«Vendetta» is the 1999 film produced by HBO and starring Christopher Walken, on DVD.
The drama recreates a real early-20th-century episode in New Orleans: after the police chief's murder, hundreds of Sicilian immigrants are detained; nineteen are indicted and nine tried, but none are convicted. A vigilante mob responds with the most massive lynching in US history, an event marked by prejudice and greed.
Region 2, Dolby Digital sound and subtitles in Spanish and English; HBO production. Rating: suitable for all audiences.
Of interest to those seeking historical dramas about little-known real episodes in US history.
