«Un feliz acontecimiento» is the 2011 film by Rémi Bezançon, starring Louise Bourgoin, Pio Marmaï and Josiane Balasko, on DVD.
Adaptation of the novel by Eliette Abécassis, it tells the story of Bárbara and Nicolás, a young couple who decide to have their first child. The arrival of the baby transforms their daily life and their relationship: the film portrays pregnancy, the harshness of the postpartum period and the difficult search for a new balance between being a couple, mother and father, without idealising. A realistic drama with touches of comedy about contemporary motherhood and fatherhood.
Original version in French, with Spanish dubbing and subtitles in Spanish and Catalan. Duration: 106 minutes. DVD edition, region 2, with one disc.
Not recommended for under-12s; a French drama aimed at an adult audience.
