«Transcriptions» is a musical film by Andy Sommer, released on DVD by Naïve, featuring the Accentus choir conducted by Laurence Equilbey.
The programme explores the transformation of instrumental works into choral music through transcriptions of pieces by Barber, Chopin, Debussy, Mahler, Prokofiev, Ravel, Schubert, Vivaldi and Wagner. It combines performances at the Salle Pleyel with sequences filmed at the National Dance Centre in Pantin, in a visual approach centred on the voice and the musical atmosphere.
This 2008 edition contains one 90-minute DVD in 16:9 widescreen format, NTSC and region-free, with 5.1 or PCM sound. It includes content in French, German and Latin, French and English subtitles, an illustrated booklet and, as an extra, Ravel’s «Soupir».
For fans of classical music, choral singing and musical audiovisual productions.
