«Titus» is the film by Julie Taymor (1999), starring Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange, on DVD.
Adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy of the same name: the Roman general Titus Andronicus returns victorious from war and becomes caught in a spiral of revenge with Tamora, queen of the Goths. The staging combines ancient Rome with contemporary elements and underscores the harshness of the play: honour, power and political corruption.
Distributed by Paradiso Home Ent., this DVD edition was released in 2008. Language: English. Categories: drama, history and war. Age rating: 16 years.
Will appeal to fans of Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange and to those seeking a visually daring Shakespeare.
