«Timecode» is the short film by Juanjo Giménez Peña (2016), starring Lali Ayguade, Vicente Gil and Pep Domenech, on DVD.
Luna and Diego are security guards in a car park: she works by day and he by night. Through the surveillance cameras they discover an unexpected connection and turn what those images capture into a very personal communication system. The short film plays with the aesthetic of security cameras, their time stamps and their fixed frames.
It won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and the Goya Award, as well as the Gaudí Award; it was also nominated for the Oscar in 2017. The original version is in Spanish, with subtitles in Spanish, English and French.
A work suitable for those who enjoy award-winning short films and narrative proposals based on video surveillance.
