Synopsis of This Is England

Set in 1983 England, the film follows Shaun, a twelve-year-old boy growing up without a father figure. During the summer holidays, he meets Woody, a young skinhead who welcomes him into his group, treating him like a younger brother. However, when Combo, an older member of the group, is released from prison, his racist ideologies begin to deeply influence young Shaun, marking a turning point in his life. This acclaimed film directed by Shane Meadows is a raw and emotional portrait of the search for identity, belonging, and the loss of innocence in a turbulent social context.
