Set in Jersey at the end of World War II, the story follows Grace, a mother living in isolation in a large Victorian mansion with her two children. Due to a rare photosensitivity condition, the children cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, keeping the house in constant darkness. The arrival of three new servants triggers a series of unsettling events, leading Grace to suspect that something dark and supernatural is lurking within her home. Directed by Alejandro Amenábar and starring Nicole Kidman, this acclaimed psychological thriller is a masterpiece of suspense.
