«Swan Lake» is the recording of Tchaikovsky's ballet with Rudolf Nureyev, Margot Fonteyn and the Wiener Staatsopernballett, on 12-inch CD Video (1987).
Tchaikovsky's ballet develops the swan motif: the principal ballerina appears in a white tutu and swan mask, in a romantic choreography alongside the Wiener Staatsopernballett. Rudolf Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn star in the production, which combines the composer's music with a theatrical staging of arches and a dark stage.
European edition on 12-inch CD Video, PAL system, published by Philips Video Classics and Unitel in 1987; reference 070 101-1.
For fans of Rudolf Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn or of ballet recordings on CD Video.
