Pompoko is a Japanese animated film directed by Isao Takahata and produced by Studio Ghibli. The story follows a community of tanukis (Japanese raccoon dogs) who struggle to protect their home in the forests of Tokyo from urban expansion. As their territory shrinks, the tanukis resort to their transformation skills to try to scare humans and sabotage construction projects. However, their efforts are complicated by the growing despair and internal divisions within the community.
