«Plácido» is the film by Luis García Berlanga (1961), starring José Luis López Vázquez, Cassen and Elvira Quintilla, on DVD.
In a provincial city, some bourgeois ladies organise a Christmas campaign for wealthy families to seat the poor at their tables. Plácido takes part in the parade with his motorised tricycle, but that night a payment on the vehicle comes due and he needs money. Comic and absurd situations follow that expose social hypocrisy.
