Synopsis of Pitch Black - Planet der Finsternis

In the not-too-distant future, pilot Fry is forced to make an emergency landing on a remote planet. In the accident, her crew dies, but some of the passengers on board survive more or less unscathed. Among them are the policeman Johns and his prisoner Riddick, a dangerous killer who was to be transferred to prison. Apart from these three, the rest of the group consists of a motley bunch of settlers, pilgrims and businessmen - and none of them has any idea how to survive on a scorching planet without water or supplies. In search of water, the castaways come across an abandoned research station. They find an almost functional space shuttle and a well, but no trace of the inhabitants or a reason for their sudden disappearance. However, it soon becomes clear to everyone, because when a solar eclipse is announced, the lifeless planet is suddenly anything but abandoned. In the darkness, the real rulers appear: flying monsters that obviously prefer fresh meat! The castaways only have one chance to survive - they must work together, whether they dare or not...
