When legions of monstrous creatures, called Kaiju, start emerging from the sea, a war begins that will take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for endless years. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon has been designed: huge robots, called Jaegers, that are simultaneously controlled by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.
