After two brutal murders, a killer uses the blood of his victims to paint the walls next to the bodies. Father Michael, a Jesuit priest played by Richard Grieco, is called to investigate the macabre crime scene. The killer is a talented expressionist painter in the midst of a spiritual crisis and in conflict with God. The police ask Father Michael to collaborate, as he must delve into the bohemian environments that the artist frequented, a world not entirely foreign to him due to his own past as a painter. Soon, all clues seem to lead to a local artist named Lewis Garou, played by Dennis Hopper.
