«Mamá cumple 100 años» is the film by Carlos Saura (1979), starring Geraldine Chaplin, Fernando Fernán Gómez and Rafaela Aparicio, on DVD.
«La Gran Madre» is about to turn one hundred and the family gathers in the old manor house, along with the former governess and her husband. Amid the party preparations, the relationships between the characters surface: memories, past conflicts, obsessions, disenchantments and joys, in a satirical look at the Spanish bourgeoisie.
Produced by Elías Querejeta, a Spanish film from 1979 running 94 minutes. Sound in Spanish in Dolby Digital 2.0 mono and 5.1, the latter remastered from the original mono.
For fans of classic Spanish cinema and Carlos Saura: an ensemble dramedy with a generational portrait, not recommended for children under 12.
