«Lluvia» is the film by Lewis Milestone starring Joan Crawford and Walter Huston, on DVD.
Adaptation of «Miss Thompson» by W. Somerset Maugham. On the island of Pago Pago, Sadie, a foul-mouthed woman who attracts the newly arrived soldiers, clashes with the missionary Davidson (Walter Huston), who wants to force her to return to San Francisco to answer for her past. While the downpour does not let up, the struggle between the two becomes a metaphor for redemption and puritanical hypocrisy.
This DVD includes audio in English and Spanish (Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono) and Spanish subtitles, with a 4:3 image. It is a restored edition with the original footage, published by Vertice Cine S.L.U.
A cult film for those who value Joan Crawford's great performances and the cinema of Lewis Milestone.
