The Return of Don Camillo is a 1953 French comedy film directed by Julien Duvivier, starring Fernandel and Gino Cervi. The film is the second in the Don Camillo series. In this installment, Don Camillo is exiled to a remote village by his bishop after his continued battles with the communist mayor Peppone. However, when the municipality decides to build a dike against the periodic floods, the landowner refuses, unleashing a war between the village clans. Peppone will have to put aside his pride and turn to his enemy to resolve the situation.
