«The Passion of the Christ» is Mel Gibson's 2004 film, starring James Caviezel, Maia Morgenstern and Monica Bellucci, on DVD.
The film recounts the last twelve hours of the life of Jesus of Nazareth: from the prayer in the Garden of Olives and Judas's betrayal to the trial before Pontius Pilate, the scourging and the ascent to Golgotha carrying the cross. It recreates with intensity and realism the religious and political tensions of the biblical episode.
Single-disc DVD edition, with 122 minutes of footage, subtitles in Spanish and English, and audio in Spanish, English, Hebrew, Latin and Arabic. Not recommended for viewers under 18.
For adult viewers interested in religious cinema and in an intense, realistic recreation of the biblical narrative.
