Based on real events, 'La fuga de Segovia' tells the story of a group of Basque political prisoners who, in April 1976, plan a daring escape from prison. After the first tunnel they were digging is discovered, the inmates, far from being discouraged, begin construction of a second tunnel. After eight months of hard work and overcoming numerous difficulties, they manage to escape. The film recounts the delicate circumstances that were experienced during the last months of the Franco regime and the awakening of the first signs of democracy.
