«La erupción del volcán San Helens» is the IMAX documentary by Producciones JRB released in 1990 and published on DVD.
The documentary recreates the eruption of Mount St. Helens on May 18, 1980, one of the most famous natural disasters in the United States. It shows the first two phases of the explosion, which began at 8:30 in the morning, and includes footage of the rescue helicopters that searched the area for survivors.
It consists of one disc, with a running time of 28 minutes, Dolby Digital 5.1 sound and English subtitles. Originally released in IMAX cinemas, it was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject.
