«La cuadrilla antes de la cuadrilla: Cortometrajes 1980-1990» is a compilation of short films by Luis Guridi and Santiago Aguilar, released on DVD (2005).
It brings together thirty short films in Super-8 and six in 35 mm made between 1980 and 1990, with a mischievous humour mixing pop and punk. The set anticipates the universe of La Cuadrilla: mad scientists, surreal characters and absurd situations. Highlights include «La hija de Fu-Manchú '72» and «Cupido se enamora».
Includes new prints of the six 35 mm shorts from the original negatives, and fourteen Super-8 shorts. Running time: about 75 minutes, plus 96 of extras with over 200 posters and photographs.
