«L.A. Confidential» is the film by Curtis Hanson (1997), starring Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce, on DVD.
In 1950s Los Angeles, three policemen with very different methods become involved in a web of corruption, ambition and murder that begins with a massacre in a coffee shop. The investigation uncovers the secrets hidden behind Hollywood's glamour and brings to light the connections between the underworld, power and the police department itself. Based on the novel by James Ellroy, the film combines classic film noir with a scathing critique of the entertainment industry and its myths.
