Julia, played by Tilda Swinton, is an alcoholic woman who, after being fired and hitting rock bottom, agrees to a desperate plan to kidnap the grandson of a wealthy businessman. She soon becomes a fugitive with the boy, and the pursuit by the police and a criminal gang turns her flight into a spiral of violence and extreme decisions.
