«Juana de Arco» is the film directed by Christian Duguay, starring Leelee Sobieski, Jacqueline Bisset and Olympia Dukakis, on DVD.
It tells the life of Joan of Arc, the peasant girl from Domrémy who, moved by visions, joined the French troops in the Hundred Years' War. She took part in the lifting of the siege of Orléans and in the coronation of Charles VII, but was captured by the Burgundians, handed over to the English and condemned to the stake in 1431. The Catholic Church canonised her in 1920.
