«JCVD» is the film by Mabrouk El Mechri (2008), starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, on DVD.
Jean-Claude Van Damme plays a fictional version of himself: weighed down by tax problems, a custody battle over his daughter and a declining career, he returns to his home country seeking a quiet life. That calm is shattered when a robbery drags him into a life-or-death situation.
Action and drama film distributed by Paramount; original audio in French with English subtitles.
Will appeal to Jean-Claude Van Damme fans who want to see him in a more introspective and dramatic register.
