«Inadaptado» is the film by Spike Jonze (2002), starring Nicolas Cage, Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper, on DVD.
Charlie Kaufman, a screenwriter in Los Angeles, goes through a personal and creative crisis while adapting The Orchid Thief. To overcome the block, he includes his own doubts in the script, and the film ends up interweaving the writer's reality with the book's story in a metanarrative game about obsession and creation.
Independent drama; the DVD edition includes English, Spanish and Portuguese audio.
For fans of independent drama and stories that play with the very writing of the script.
