In October 1989, Alex's mother, a woman proud of her communist ideals, falls into a coma. Eight months later she wakes up and her son tries to hide from her the fall of the Berlin Wall and the arrival of capitalism. To do so, he turns his home into a fake refuge anchored in the past, a museum of socialism so that she keeps believing nothing has changed.
