In Italy in 1984, judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino confront the Sicilian mafia, imprisoning numerous hitmen. However, reaching the bosses is a challenge due to the law of silence. Falcone suspects the involvement of politicians in the mafia's businesses but lacks evidence. The arrest of Tommasso Buscetta, a repentant mobster, changes the situation, providing Falcone with the necessary evidence.
