Set in 1901, this crime caper stars Aldo Ray as Norgate, the ringleader of a group of Irish nationalists planning a legendary robbery of the Bank of England to fund their independence movement. The thieves attempt to make their way through the sewer system beneath the bank, but they must contend with a young guard named Fitch, played by Peter O'Toole in a breakout performance, who may be smarter than he looks.
