«El Cuarteto» is Dustin Hoffman's film (2012), starring Maggie Smith, Tom Courtenay and Billy Connolly, on DVD.
In a retirement home for performers, a group of opera veterans prepares the annual concert dedicated to Verdi. The arrival of Jean, Reggie's ex-wife, disrupts the community: she retains her diva personality and refuses to sing again. Amid old rivalries and rekindled passions, the quartet tries to make the show go on.
Running time: 98 min. Audio in English and Spanish in Dolby Digital 5.1; subtitles in Spanish and English. Distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment. Not recommended for under-13s.
Interesting for those seeking a drama with touches of comedy, classical music and a cast of veteran performers.
