«Días de cine» is the film by David Serrano (2007), starring Alberto San Juan, Malena Alterio and Javier Gutiérrez, on DVD.
In the winter of 1977, Federico Solá, a prestigious anti-Francoist theatre director, needs a star for his social drama about miners. The chosen one is Silvia Conde, a declining folk singer who sees the role as her great comeback. The shoot brings together an unreliable producer, a censor with artistic pretensions and a stuttering actor with money.
DVD PAL edition, region 2, distributed by Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Includes audio in Spanish (Dolby Digital 5.1) and English subtitles. Not recommended for under 13s.
For those seeking a Spanish ensemble comedy about theatre, film and the Transition, with a cast of recognised actors.
