«Das Boot: The Director's Cut» is the film by Wolfgang Petersen (1997), starring Jürgen Prochnow, Herbert Grönemeyer and Klaus Wennemann, on DVD.
The film follows in 1941 the 43 crew members of the German submarine U-96, who embark seeking adventure and heroism and end up trapped in a war patrol in the Atlantic.
