«Coffee and Cigarettes» is the film by Jim Jarmusch (2003), starring Roberto Benigni, Bill Murray and Cate Blanchett, on DVD.
Anthology film that strings together eleven black-and-white short films around a coffee table; in each, pairs or trios of film and music figures hold banal, sharp conversations about the invention of radio, fame or Elvis Presley, while drinking coffee and smoking. The tone combines dry humour, absurdity and an ironic look at everyday pleasures.
DVD-5 edition with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound in Italian and English and Italian subtitles; 1.85:1 16/9 anamorphic format. Published by Effe-movies in collaboration with La Feltrinelli.
For fans of Jim Jarmusch and independent cinema who enjoy ironic dialogue and ensemble encounters between actors and musicians.
