Lester Grisam, convicted of homicide and robbery, escapes from prison to take revenge on Stuart Duncan, the witness who informed on him. With two accomplices, he breaks into the couple's home and takes Kelly, Duncan's fiancée, and her sister hostage, forcing him to rob money from the bank and transfer it to an overseas account. The police follow his trail.
