American Buffalo

Synopsis of American Buffalo

American Buffalo is an edgy, electrifying drama about trust, betrayal, and loyalty gone dangerously awry. Don, a down-and-out junk dealer, discovers that a rare buffalo head nickel he sold for $90 is worth ten times as much. Refusing to be out-swindled, he enlists the help of a young protégé in a scheme to steal the coin back. Their plans are suddenly altered by the intrusion of Teach, a disturbingly aggressive would-be thief who badgers Don into cutting him in on the heist, a decision that carries explosive consequences for everyone involved. Starring Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Franz, and Sean Nelson, and written by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Mamet.
