Hélène Boudreau grew up surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, an influence that shapes much of her work.
Although she has never spotted a mermaid in the wild, she believes they are as plausible as sea horses.
Her prolific career spans 66 works, ranging from fiction to educational guides.
She currently writes her stories from Ontario, far from the coast where she spent her childhood.
Her picture book, I Dare You Not to Yawn, was honored with the prestigious Parents’ Choice Award in 2013.
