«Zimmer Men» is Marcus Berkmann's humorous essay on village cricket, published by Abacus in paperback (256 pages, in English).
With humour, Marcus Berkmann observes the veteran cricket player who in his head is still quick, though his legs no longer respond. The book follows the 2004 season, with defeats and injuries, and raises the mature player's questions: why the boundary is ever farther or how many trousers the circumference destroys in a summer.
The work is the second volume of the «Cricket Men» series, with the subtitle «The Trials and Tribulations of the Ageing Cricketer».
Recommended for cricket fans and British comedy lovers seeking an ironic look at the passage of time in sport.
