She organised a clandestine school in her home and managed to flee the country in 2001.
The book was published in 2001 and bears the subtitle «Avere vent'anni a Kabul: la mia vita rubata dai talebani».
It is a read for those seeking testimonies about the lives of women in Afghanistan and resistance against Taliban oppression.
Latifa, Lateefa or Lateefah is a feminine Arabic (لٓطِيفٓة) given name which means "gentle", "nice" or "pleasant". It corresponds to the masculine Latif.
