«Varadouro» is the poetry collection by Políbio Alves, published in 2003 by Universidade Federal da Paraíba in paperback (84 pages, in Portuguese).
The book brings together the poetry that Políbio Alves originally published in 1989. Throughout its pages, the poet from Paraíba builds his own imaginary with images of the body, mud and the passage of time, integrating cultural references and an expressiveness close to the popular lyricism of the Brazilian Northeast.
Políbio Alves received the Author of the Year Award 1999 from the International Board of Examiner (Italy) and the Poeta Augusto dos Anjos Medal in 2001, in Paraíba.
For readers of Brazilian poetry and literature from the Northeast of Brazil.
