«Unamuno: venceréis pero no convenceréis» is the play by José Luis Gómez, published by Oportet Editores in paperback (96 pages, in Spanish).
The play recreates the last months of Miguel de Unamuno, from the military uprising to his death in December 1936. Unamuno speaks with «the other», his reflection and counterpart; both analyse each other, exchanging reproaches, questions and answers. Everything culminates on 12 October, when Unamuno gives a lesson in courage, humanism and dignity.
Part of the De omni re sciibili series. José Luis Gómez is an actor and stage director, founder of the Teatro de La Abadía.
A work for readers interested in contemporary Spanish theatre and the figure of Miguel de Unamuno.
