«The Knowledge Frontier: Essays in the Representation of Knowledge» is a volume of essays edited by Nick Cercone and Gordon McCalla (Springer, hardback).
Knowledge representation is one of the central problems of artificial intelligence: expert systems need to know their domain; vision systems, the characteristics of scenes; and natural language systems, the topic of discourse. The volume addresses how to extract, formalize, modify, and reason with that knowledge.
The text is in English, has 552 pages, and was published in 1987; it is part of the Symbolic Computation series.
Aimed at university students, researchers, and professionals in artificial intelligence, as well as those interested in epistemology and computational linguistics.
