The album brings together arrangements for two pianos of orchestral passages by Richard Wagner, created mainly by Max Reger and with a contribution by Paul Dukas. It includes the overture to Tannhäuser, «Wotans Abschied und Feuerzauber» from Die Walküre and the prelude from Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, as well as fragments from Tristan und Isolde.
World-premiere recordings of these arrangements. Total duration 68'46. Recorded by Radio Suisse Romande-Espace 2, with Gérard Allaz as producer and Philippe Hamilton as sound engineer. Reference CD-976.
A disc aimed at lovers of classical music, especially of the Wagnerian repertoire and piano transcriptions.
