In a post-apocalyptic world devastated by natural disasters, Snowman mourns the loss of his best friend, Crake, and the enigmatic Oryx, whom they both loved. As he struggles to survive in solitude, Snowman confronts memories and the company of the Children of Crake, green-eyed beings who consider him a prophet. On a journey into his past and into the high-tech bubble created by Crake, Snowman wonders how everything could have changed so drastically. This moving story of love and survival is the first part of Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam Trilogy.
