«Nachtmahl» is the humorous crime novel by Rainer Nikowitz, published by Rowohlt Taschenbuch in paperback (317 pages, in German).
In the middle of summer in Lower Austria, Suchanek, a reluctant investigator, is forced to take a holiday in Feuchtkirchen, a village full of mosquitoes. There he explains the so-called «Ceausescu method»; the next morning a woman is found tied up and dead, with bites and boar wounds. Did Suchanek inspire the killer? The crimes continue.
It is the second instalment in the «Suchanek ermittelt» series. Its tone mixes mystery with humour and Austrian regional setting.
For readers of crime and mystery fiction with humour, and for fans of the Suchanek ermittelt series.
