«Manuel de la photo ratée» is the photography manual by Thomas Lélu, published by Léo Scheer in paperback (93 pages, in French).
The author offers an amusing catalogue of photographic errors: blurred subject, out-of-focus shots, overexposure, backlighting, a finger in front of the lens, framing that cuts off heads, or distorted subjects. Far from correcting them, the book champions the mistake as an expressive device and encourages breaking the rules to discover unexpected images, with an ironic tone akin to an instruction manual.
The edition dates from 28 August 2002, and the cover features Al Dante and Éditions Léo Scheer.
For photography enthusiasts who want to take the drama out of error and explore a playful, ironic approach to the medium.
