«Magia Vudú» is the essay on voodoo rites and beliefs by Rosamaría Nassetti, published by Tikal Ediciones in paperback (160 pages, in Spanish).
The author approaches voodoo as a religious system and analyses its rituals, exorcisms and the use of fetishes. She pays special attention to the power of priests and priestesses in a state of trance and to the place occupied by zombies or «living dead» in this tradition; the relations between voodoo and Christianity and its roots in the religiosity of Haiti also appear.
The Spanish edition is a translation from the Italian, done by Cristina Castro; the work falls within parapsychological studies and the themes of mysticism, magic and rituals.
For readers interested in esotericism, mysticism, magic and rituals, as well as in popular religiosity and the cultural context of Haiti.
