L'inspector is a masterpiece inscribed in the genre of satirical comedy, a text on political corruption that places us in a small provincial town in 19th century Russia, which is shaken by the possible arrival of an inspector from the capital. While the police and political officials rush to erase all signs of corruption, Ivan Khlèstakov, a poor devil who has just arrived in the town, is benefited by a misunderstanding that makes him mistaken for the feared inspector and that will lead him to live a whole series of confusions. A funny satire of a world that unfortunately still reminds us a lot of our own. Free adaptation by Jordi Galceran.
