«Le voleur de Dieu» is the historical mystery novel by Ellis Peters, published by 10/18 in paperback (351 pages, in French).
In the winter of 1144, two groups of visitors arrive at Shrewsbury Abbey: a young Benedictine with an innocent face and a French troubadour with a girl of angelic voice. When floods threaten the relic of Saint Winifred and the bones disappear, Brother Cadfael, a herbalist monk, investigates the theft and a murder amid the civil war between Stephen and Matilda.
Le voleur de Dieu is the French translation of The Holy Thief, the nineteenth instalment of the Brother Cadfael chronicles, Ellis Peters' medieval novel series.
For fans of historical fiction and the classic 'whodunit'; the Cadfael series is cited alongside Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot in the genre canon.
Edith Mary Pargeter, also known by her pen name Ellis Peters, was an English author of works in many categories, especially history and historical fiction, and was also honoured for her translations of Czech classics.
